Classic Tuna Casserole

1 envelope (approx. 2 oz.) chicken noodle soup mix
2 1/2 cups boiling water
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
3 Tbsp. flour
Dash of pepper
1 can (7 oz.) Tuna, drained & flaked
2 cups canned peas, drained
1/4 cup buttered bread crumbs


Preheat oven to 450 F.


In a medium saucepan, over low heat, melt butter or margarine; blend in flour and pepper. Gradually stir in hot soup and cook until thickened. Add Tuna and fold in peas. Turn into a greased 1 1/2 quart ovenproof dish. Top with buttered bread crumbs. Bake 15 minutes until heat through.
